お疲れ様です。今日は休暇を頂きました。
今日はわたしの過去の経験談を少し書いて行きます。
それは、「何かに真剣に取り組んだら、良い事ありますよ！」というお話です。
１つの例として、プロフィールにも書いていますが、わたしは福岡大学に在籍していた時、「３週間、無料でハワイ大学に通える」という権利を獲得することができました。
これは、本当に文字通り「無料」だったのです。
「渡航費」「滞在費」「授業料」「イベント費用」など、本当に自分のお小遣い以外は何も支払っていません。
そして、それはなぜ実現できたかというと、英語学習を真剣に頑張っていたからです。わたしは英語学科ではありませんでしたが、自分で「英語やるぞ！」と決めて、ネイティブレベルを目指して英語力を鍛えていました。
そしたら、わたしが４年生の時に、「TOEICのスコアが高い生徒をハワイ大学に無料で連れて行く」というプログラムが始まり、それを勝ち取れたのです。
努力が必ず報われるとは限りません。しかし、努力すれば良い事も多いです。
自分を信じて、行動して行きましょう。

This is a story of mine when I was much younger than I am now. Back then in the university, I decided to learn English. At first it was nothing more than just a little fire of passion, but as the time went on, I got more and more attracted to the language.
I remember that I hated myself not having any strong point at that time, and I wanted to live with a transcendental ability, something that I can be proud of. And I chose English!! I vaguely remember why I chose it. I thought it would be helpful if I had a high English ability, for job hunting or something.
When I was a senior, I happened to hear the news that said, “We will take the students to Hawaii for free if they have the most brilliant scores among the participants!!” So, I just submitted my score sheet and became one of them.
The time of Hawaii is definitely one of the most memorable events I thank for even now. My effort paid off, luckily enough.
What I wanna tell you is, though your effort doesn’t always pay off, your effort oftentimes makes your life more meaningful, more interesting, and more satisfying.
